OVERVIEW ⟩ «Hamas tried to sow as much fear as possible – killing, burning alive, raping»

Haim Outmezgin, commander of the Israeli special unit Zaka, has difficulty describing the events of October 7. After the Hamas massacre, he found the bodies of two young women in a field, both with their legs spread apart. One of them had a bullet wound in her vagina, the other had torn jeans and scratches on her legs.

“We harvested in ten days [Supernova] a thousand corpses from the festival grounds and kibbutzim,” Outmezgine told the Times. “It was clear they were trying to spread as much fear as possible: killing, burning alive, raping. It seemed like their goal was to rape as much as possible.”

The Zaka special unit is made up of volunteers whose mission is to collect the remains of killed people, including their blood, so that the people can be buried according to Jewish tradition.
