On Saturday, Estonian ice hockey club HC Panter achieved its second consecutive victory against Kaunas City in the Latvian Premier League, which unites the Baltic clubs. Having won the first game by a large margin, Panther needed extra time this time.

Panther, who beat Kaunas City 7:3 on Friday, took the lead on home ice thanks to Daniil Tsarkovskii’s goal in the fifth minute, but the Lithuanian club found the equalizer before the end of the first half.

The Panthers took the lead again 11 minutes into the second period when Rasmus Kiik reached the goal. Kaunas equalized a minute and a half later, but Kiik in turn scored another goal half a minute later and entered the decisive period against Panther with a 3:2 lead.

However, the Estonian club let the lead go at the end of the decisive period and Kaunas City leveled the score three minutes before the end of regular time and the match went to extra time. However, Mihkel Võrang became the Estonians’ hero when he scored the winning goal four minutes and 54 seconds after the start of extra time.
