Panthers lost on the road, the Jets had to admit the Canadiens’ superiority on home ice | Ice Hockey

The Florida Panthers, who reached the NHL Stanley Cup final last season, suffered their 11th loss of the season Tuesday night when they fell 1-3 at the Calgary Flames.

In the crossover match, the home team Flames took the lead first when Martin Pospisil scored in the ninth minute. However, the Panthers, who lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in the cup final, found the equalizer in the final minute of the opening period.

The game was subsequently tied, but the Flames regained the lead after a scoreless second period when Noah Hanifin found himself one-on-one with the goalie. The American seized the opportunity and Blake Coleman flicked the puck into an empty net at the end of the game to give the Flames a 3:1 victory (1:1, 0:0, 2:0).

However, the Panthers weren’t the only team at the top of the conference to feel the pain of a loss. The Winnipeg Jets lost to the Montreal Canadiens 3:2 (0:0, 2:1, 1:0, 1:0) in overtime on home ice.

In the Western Conference, the defending champion Vegas Golden Knights continue to lead with 47 points, followed by the Vancouver Canucks (44 points), Dallas Stars (40) and Colorado Avalanche (40).

In the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers are in first place with 43 points, while the Boston Bruins, second in the standings, have collected the same number of points. Two 38-point clubs follow: the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

Other results:
Dallas Stars – Seattle Kraken 4:3 (2:0, 1:2, 0:1, 1:0)
Pittsburgh Penguins – Minnesota Wild 4:3 (1:0, 2:2, 1:1)
Detroit Red Wings-Anaheim Ducks 3:4 (0:3, 1:1, 2:0)
