Perfume artist Tony Veiler: We wear perfume, we don’t use | People

A correctly chosen perfume helps a person achieve all his goals, perfumer Tony Veiler told “Vikerhommikus”. According to Veiler, perfume is a work of art that you need to know how to spray on yourself correctly.

“Abroad our office holders are called nina, that is in English nose“, explained perfumer and fragrance artist Tony Veiler. “The nose is further divided into two categories, there is the technical nose and the creative nose.”

“The technical nose works in a perfume house and simply says how many things are in something, how much perfume should be put in detergents and deodorants. The creative nose is already more capricious, it is more like an artist who creates a particular perfume ” Veiler added.

The emotion created by the smell was terrifying

“I had my first scare very early in puberty, when I was 12 or 13,” Veiler recalled of when he first discovered the world of fragrance on his own. “It was the bad Soviet times and my sister had a gentleman who gave her the first French perfume. It was a famous perfume Climate. When my sister wasn’t home, I would secretly go into her room to smell her perfume.”

“When I smelled it for the first time, I was so surprised that I would have dropped the bottle from the edge. I was simply amazed at how a perfume could evoke such strong fantastic images in me. I saw before my eyes the snow-capped peaks of Switzerland , the melting flowers begin to appear. We had an iron wall, and obviously I hadn’t been to Switzerland myself, but I saw it before my eyes.”

“The emotion and image that this smell created in me was terrifying, because how is it possible that a smell can influence your inner world so strongly? This feeling is basically the idea of creating and using perfumes “Veiler explained. “Perfume artists want the scent they create to touch a person in some way, depending on what its goal is. If they want to evoke certain emotions and memories, or if the scent is to help them feel more confident.”

“Today we have already lost our natural body odor, because we all use different products every day.”

A niche perfume is worn like a work of art

“Life took me to Paris, where I initially worked in a completely different profession,” Veiler recalled of the event that pushed him to realize his dream. “I was invited to the reception of a famous English designer and when I left, everyone was given two niche perfumes as souvenirs. When I got home and opened the bottles, they flew into the rubbish bin with a big bow. I felt that I was capable of creating a better perfume. Then I discovered that it was time to make one of my dreams come true.”

Veiler simply calls a niche perfume a work of art. “People can wear a work of art. We don’t say we wear perfume. We wear perfume. Mass-produced perfumes are made for commercial purposes to make money and people smell more or less pleasant, but they are still the same. “

When it comes to perfumes, the less, the better. “In general, very good niche perfumes should be sprayed only once. In extreme cases, twice,” Veiler taught. “Put perfume where you want to be kissed. For best results in scientific terms, spray perfume on your pulse points, which are behind your ears, elbows, wrists, knees if you’re wearing shorts.”

The hair wears perfume longer

It is also said that you need to spray a scented cloud and then enter it. “Everything is fine,” Veiler said. “But in this case, do it naked, because all fragrances contain essential oils and can still stain clothes. Hair lasts longer than perfume. But in that case, don’t spray it on your hair, but on a comb and comb your hair or, if you don’t want to wear perfume at all, but want you or your things to smell better, you can take a tissue, spray it, and put it in your notebook or bag. When you smell it, you take it out, smell it, and put it back okay.”

According to Veiler, there is nothing wrong if a young person wants to smell better and goes to buy perfume at the supermarket counter. “But if you have already achieved something in life and find that you are worth something more, you want to increase your self-esteem, assert yourself, then in this case you don’t put on the cheapest perfume.”

“Perfume is a matter of mood, we must be able to use it consciously. In what mood did you wake up, who do you meet today, what do you have to achieve. In fact, a person’s perfume wardrobe should be as large as “His wardrobe . Smell also has an important influence. But perfumes must be tested on the skin, not on strips of paper.”
