Although Tallinn is not organizing fireworks this New Year’s Eve, as in other large Estonian cities, and both environmental experts and city officials have spoken about their harmful effects, the district administration of Lasnamäe has given permission to organize the fireworks of fireworks to a company operating in Punasel tāni by this evening. The fireworks organized by PyroShow OÜ attracted many citizens.
Only last Friday the same neighborhood asked residents to stop launching rockets. “The city of Tallinn has also given up organizing fireworks this year. I urge the residents of Lasnamäe to refrain from setting off fireworks between residential buildings and in the late hours. In addition to many other reasons, fireworks devices cause stress to both pets and small children sleeping at night,” Lasnamäe district MP Julianna Jurchenko said in a press release issued on Friday.
