Poll: Conservatives face historic election defeat | foreign country

According to a poll by the research company YouGov, the Tory party is facing a historic election defeat and the current political situation in Britain is similar to that of 1997. Then Labor achieved a big victory and the long reign of the Conservatives has come to an end.

A YouGov poll showed Labor would win a 120-seat majority at the election. Poll shows the Conservatives will lose all the seats they took from Labor in the 2019 election. Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt will not enter parliament, the Times reported.

Another poll showed that the Conservatives will gain around 196 fewer seats than in 2019. In 1997, the Conservatives lost 178 seats, when John Major led the country. After him, Tony Blair became the Prime Minister of Great Britain.

The poll was commissioned by a conservative group that supports the Tory party. Former Brexit minister David Frost believes the Conservatives must pursue a tough immigration policy as the only way his home party can avoid defeat.

Frost warned that otherwise the party would face a 1997-style collapse, but it could be worse.

“There’s only one way to save the day. You have to get tough on immigration, you have to reverse the tax increases, you have to abolish the renewable energy tax, there are many other things that need to be done,” Frost said . .

YouGov polling showed Penny Mordaunt and Defense Secretary Grant Shapps will also lose their parliamentary seats. Mordaunt was defense secretary and also stood for Tory leader last year.
