“This Barbie is the president,” Osmani concluded Wednesday’s final press conference of the year, wearing a bright pink blazer. The head of state, previously known for his fight for gender equality, was referring to this year’s international hit film “Barbie”.
On the same day, the head of state also visited the child oncology and surgery clinic in the capital Pristina.
Osmani, elected the second female president in the history of Kosovo Tunamullu, spoke out against violence against women and in favor of gender equality. “In education, sport, culture, business, science or politics, women have proven that they are capable of moving mountains. To all the women and girls of the Republic I say today and every day: never stop to dream, but above all, never stop believing,” Osmani said in a statement marking International Women’s Day in March.
