PSG striker led South Korea to victory in the opening match of the Asian Cup – Soccernet.ee

South Korea, led by Heung-min Son, got off to a winning start in the Asian Cup with a 3-1 win over Bahrain.

South Korea opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Much of the goal can be attributed to Bayern Munich centre-back Min-jae Kim, whose brilliant low pass took over behind the opposition defence. From there, the ball was brought in front of the goal and In-beom Hwang made no mistakes, but nailed the ball into the left corner of the crossbar from ten metres.

Bahrain entered the second half with a new lease of life and quickly equalised. However, the tie did not last long, as Paris Saint-Germain winger Kang-in Lee took the reins. Five minutes after Bahrain’s equaliser, Lee scored with a precise long-range shot from 20 metres, and ten minutes later he turned a counterattack into a goal with a neat trick.

In the next match of the evening, Iraq, which held the status of favorites, defeated Indonesia 3:1, the last match between Malaysia and Jordan ended with the latter’s victory 4:0. At the same time, Jordan scored three goals in the 32nd minute.
