The government of Ukraine has submitted to parliament a draft law on the reorganization of mobilization. They also want to mobilize 500,000 new citizens for military service. The age of mobilization is reduced from 27 to 25 years. Debates on this law will be more heated than previous war-related bills in parliament.
Civil associations will certainly also contribute more actively. A separate emotional issue will be taking Ukrainian citizens abroad into military service. This decision may indicate that Ukrainian leaders are considering a new Russian mobilization in the future. Since this is not considered possible before the Russian presidential elections in March 2024, Ukraine would have a small advantage if it moved earlier. It can be assumed that a part of the soldiers who have been serving for a long time also want to be demobilized.
