RECORD DEAL ⟩ An apartment was sold in Dubai for over one hundred million euros, with only one drawback: it doesn’t exist

In Dubai, where more is more, no realized idea is too crazy or impossible. Whether it’s the world’s tallest skyscraper, the world’s largest fountain, or air-conditioned streets, if enough black gold comes out of the ground, anything is possible.

A new entry has now been entered into the record books for the Persian Gulf city. The most expensive apartment of all time in the city has been sold, but one important detail sets it apart from the others: the apartment only exists on paper. 500 million UAE dirhams, or 125.7 million euros, were paid for the theoretical square meters.

The 2,044 square meter apartment will crown a 71-storey skyscraper on the famous Jumayrah Palm Island. The skyscraper planned for the sophisticated neighborhood will be called Como Residences and will be surrounded by luxury villas, hotels and beach clubs.
