Review of the play by the author of Ene-Liis Semper

Although Ene-Liis Semper’s “Now We Can Talk About It” has a superficial effect at times, this superficiality begins to work in the play and completes the novel.

The expedition brought to the stage two productions which at first glance have completely different spellings and language. One is “3 SISTERS” directed by Katariina Undi, the other is “Nyüð poit öst sätt” by Ene-Liis Semper. Semper’s production is visually exciting: there is a drum kit, an empty swimming pool, lots of nods, wigs, pastel colors and bright lights on stage. The actors take poses, make faces. Undi’s stage, however, has three dark gray pedestals, on which the actors in dark costumes stand more or less still, behind them the lights change color with the help of spotlights. Here too there are poses and grimaces, but more subdued, more theatrical than performative.
