The 56-year-old pop star wanted to take a British Airways flight from London to Munich. But when he boarded the plane, Fox got into an argument with another passenger, the New York Post reports.
The plane was already on the runway, but turned around. The passengers on board the plane were forced to interrupt their journey and were put up in a hotel. They could only fly to Munich the next day.
According to police, a woman in her fifties was arrested on suspicion of being drunk. Fox was taken to a detention center to sober up and the singer is due to appear in court in March.
Fox promised to help the investigation and expressed deep regret for what he had done.
The hit “Touch Me” singer is married to her partner Linda Olsen. “Sam and Linda are very happy together and want to spend the rest of their lives together,” a source close to the couple said at the time.
Fox officially came out in 2003 when he admitted to having an affair with a woman. He was with his ex-lover until 2015. Then his ex-partner died after a long battle with cancer.
