The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC-CDMX) announced that it is looking for those responsible for beating a man in a wheelchair in the surroundings of Alameda Central, right in front of the Bellas Artes building, an event that was captured on video and then viralized on social networks.
According to the agency, the fight arose from a dispute between street vendors and beggars who disputed the surroundings of that place, which is visited daily by thousands of tourists and walkers. They also detail that the events occurred on February 11 on the corner of Juárez Avenue and the Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas, in the Centro neighborhood, in the vicinity of Alameda Central.
The police arrived late despite having a constant presence in that place, where there is even a “Tourist Police.” When they were present, various witnesses told them that the man, who had been beaten minutes before, was taken by himself to a hospital.
