Tallink Grupp signed this Thursday, December 14, 2023, a syndicated loan agreement, under which it will refinance the balances of several major loans taken out in recent years. From the point of view of the Republic of Estonia, the most important loan repayment concerns the 100 million euro loan granted by KredEx to Tallink Group in the first year of the Covid pandemic in 2020. For the granted loan, Tallink Grupp paid to KredEx in the last three years interest amounting to 8.9 million euros, to which are added the one-off expenses relating to the conclusion and termination of the loan contract.
In addition to repaying the KredEx loan, Tallink Grupp will also repay the €100 million loan it received from Nordic Investment Bank in autumn 2020 and reduce numerous other previous loan obligations.
