Tallinn Children’s Home is looking for a special family carer for 12-year-old Marten, who is suffering from aggressive cancer

Marten, 12 years old, currently lives in a shelter, but needs a parent from a special care family who can dedicate himself to supporting Marten for at least three to six months. Marten has been diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer and in the next few days she will begin complex treatment, the Tallinn Children’s Home reports on its Facebook page.

In addition to the serious illness, Marten faces many other changes in his life. Marten needs a person at his side who can stay with him in the Tallinn Children’s Hospital and between chemotherapy treatments, in the home of the parent of the special care family or in the apartment of our Mustamäe unit. We are looking for a parent from a special care family who is ready to take on an emotionally difficult challenge so that Marten does not have to be alone on this journey. In addition to daily care, the parent of a special care family must deal with the emotional and physical effects of treatment.

Tallinn Children’s Home supports the caregiver every step of the way, both with emotional support and help with business.
