Unveiling the Hidden Connections: Vaping Advocates’ Undisclosed Ties to Juul Exposed

NYU Professors’ Undisclosed Collaboration with Juul Revealed

WASHINGTON — A recent investigation by STAT uncovered that two professors⁣ from New York University, David Abrams ⁤and⁤ Ray Niaura, worked closely with Juul, a vaping company, without disclosing their affiliations to academic journals or Congress.

During⁤ the peak⁢ of the youth vaping crisis, when⁣ the public health⁢ community was advocating ‌for ⁢drastic ⁣measures to address the issue, Abrams and Niaura emerged as prominent figures defending vaping as a viable public health strateg

SIBERIA – Movement mammoth The 14,000-year-old furry has been linked to the earliest human hunters on Earth.

A study of mammoths that died 14,000 years ago shows how some of the first Americans set up hunting camps along 1,000 km long grazing routes.

The new findings suggest that the Americas may have been settled by Russian hunters who tracked mammoths across the Bering Strait to Alaska.

Data collected by a group of scientists on the female mammoth, nicknamed Elma, suggests that Alaska’s early inhabitants likely built their settlements to overlap with areas where mammoths congregated.

7 Days to Die announces the end of its Early Access… and that the game will have to be purchased again on console

The Fun Pimps have announced the end of Early Access for 7 Days to Die… with controversy included.

The open-world zombie game was originally published in 2013. Now, after eleven years, it will end its early access phase and version 1.0 will be released. The surprise, however, is that they have said that users who bought Early Access on consoles (which was not exactly cheap, costing €34.99) will have to buy the game again if they want the fi

This revolutionary material levitates without energy

Levitation has been dreamed of for years, but nothing has actually been achieved. Japanese researchers have made a small breakthrough. We are still far from the hoverboard that avoids in the sky, but it’s a start…

A team of researchers from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology has just developed a graphite-based material with surprising properties: it levitates on its own, without any form of energy!

Its operation is obviously quite technical, but in summary, graphite has “diamagnetic” properties, that is, the tendency of a substance to create a magnetic field opposite to another magnetic field when these are opposite to this one.

By arranging graphite in the form of balls covered in silica and surrounded by wax, scientists have created a platform capable of levitating without external energy input! Furthermore, graphite is transformed into an electrical insulator to minimize one of the major defects of this type of device: electrical losses over time… A magnetic force was also used to slow down the platform and to avoid movements that tend to destabilize this type of systems.

In the more or less long term, this discovery could find practical applications in the world of technology, such as extremely precise measurement systems. However, it will likely still take some time be

The Mystery of Venus’ Lost Water: New Study Suggests Dissociative Recombination as Cause

Venus, often referred to as Earth’s twin, was once thought to have had a water content similar to our own planet. However, a new analysis suggests that the water on Venus has disappeared at a rate twice as fast as previously estimated, leaving the planet bone dry.

Scientists have long been puzzled by the drastic difference in water content between Earth and Venus, despite the

Accusation, defense, timing, how it could end: everything you need to know about the TikTok affair

Ursula by Der Leyen says that a ban on TikTok in the European Union is “not ruled out” after the American president Biden signed law that could ban TikTok in the US. Voices against the social network of Chinese origin are multiplying from many quarters, with political leaders going so far as to say that “we know how dangerous it is”.

But how could this happen? How is that what it was one of the most downloaded apps in Europe and the USA between 2020 and 2021 (precisely in the year of the pandemic it was the most installed in Italy) has it become the West’s public enemy number one? And also: could TikTok really be banned from our smartphones?

tiktok: the words of the CEO of TikTok after Biden’s signature

The timing: not before 2025

Let’s try to understand it, starting from the warmest front, which is that of the United States: in the Italian night between April 23rd and 24th, the US Senate approved (79 votes in favor and 18 against) the bill that could lead to the blocking of TikTok. The provision was passed with a trick, a political maneuver that is well known in Italy: it was inserted inside another provision, the one which concerned the sending of further military aid to Ukraine. The text has arrived on the desk of Biden, who signed it and made it law within a few hours. It requires ByteDance, the company that controls TikTok, to sell the social network to an American company or cease all activity on American soil, but also grants 270 days to do so.

Nine months is a long time, and among other things it is already foreseen that it can be extended by another 3 months “if there is clear progress towards an agreement”, and it is a non-random time. The first draft was about 6 months: now that they have become (at least) 9, the final decision will be made by January 23, 2025. That is, not by the current president but by the new one. Which could be Biden or much more likely Trump, who has already said he is against the ban, despite being in favor of it when he was in the White House.

Why is TikTok successful?

At least there are 8 reasons (which we explored in detail here) and the first is the algorithm with which the platform traces the profile of each user, learns their tastes to continue offering videos that they want to watch. Not only does it manage an enormous number of parameters but it also capitalizes on the attention deficits typical of these times: when you get tired of one video, after that there is another that renews your attention, and then another, another and another even more. Meanwhile the algorithm learns, in a self-sustaining loop and is basically the basis on which

Daily Mail calls for urgent rescue of emperor penguins (VIDEO)

“Emperor penguins will soon become extinct. 99% of birds could disappear by 2100 if greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise,” writes an English newspaper. Global warming has reached penguins, which are predicted to disappear before the end of the century.

“Researchers from the British Antarctic Survey have warned that 99% of emperor penguins will disappear by the end of the century if greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise at current rates.

“As the continent warms, we see the ice melting earlier, leading to higher chick mortality. With fewer chicks surviving in many colonies, it is likely that over time a number of current bre
