According to well-known journalist Quail Fabrizio Romano, the German has already accepted the offer from Spurs and is looking forward to working under the guidance of Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou. Leipzig and Tottenham are yet to agree the terms of the loan deal.
Werner has already played in England, when in the summer of 2020 London’s Chelsea paid 53 million euros to Leipzig for the German. The German international failed to make a big step forward for the capital club. He had 23 hits in 89 games.
In the summer of 2022, Leipzig bought the German back from Chelsea for 20 million. In the current season he has scored two goals in 14 games. Werner played 57 times for the German national team and scored 24 goals.
Tottenham is fighting for the top places in the English Premier League. The club is fifth in the table with 39 points, but league leaders Liverpool are just six points behind.
