The position of first operator of the new Airbus A321XLR will be taken by the airline Iberia. This was announced by his boss Marco Sansavini. The Spanish airline will replace the originally planned Aer Lingus, where there was a conflict between employees over wages.
Both airlines are part of the International Airlines Group (IAG). The company itself has already confirmed that the first operator will not be an Irish carrier.
The Airbus A321XLR is expected to enter service after several delays in the third quarter of this year. At Iberia it will be tested first on European routes, then on flights from Madrid to the United States. Speculation speaks of two destinations: Boston and Washington.
