That’s all! The ability to use Tinder will disappear in Belarus

Dating app Tinder is shutting down its services completely in Belarus, giving Minsk singles just enough time to find a suitable partner until Valentine’s Day, Politico reports.

Users can still match and chat with other users on the app until February 14, Tinder said in a press release. Subsequently, even Tinder Gold subscribers will not be spared usage rights.

The app’s parent company, Match Group, has not revealed why it is leaving Belarus, but Tinder was previously suspected to also be used in Belarus for other purposes, such as identifying critics of President Alexander Lukashenko’s regime.

In July 2023, Tinder withdrew from the Russian dating market, citing its commitment to protecting human rights.
