The arrival of the former Paide Theater actor has brought nothing but joy to the new home theater

In 2023, 330 performances were held at the Rakvere Theater, visited by over 64,000 people. 57,334 visitors saw the films in 1,068 screenings at the theater cinema. Additionally, nearly 100 special events organized by the theater took place last year, in addition to rental events, resulting in a total of 136,711 people in attendance at the Rakvere Theater in 2023.

“We are returning to pre-Covid audience numbers. The recovery has been quicker than we could have hoped and imagined,” said Velvo Väli, director of the Rakvere Theatre. “In addition to the shows and film screenings, the Rakvere Theatre’s series of special events have certainly provided considerable added value. Both the film and music quiz have found their audiences, and the special events of the musical productions and series have also of RT were well received”, Väli expressed his pleasure at the growing interest in culture.

The year 2024 will also be eventful for the Rakvere Teatr. 4 new productions prepare for the stage in the first half of the year. On January 26, “Bridges of Madison County” by Robert James Waller (directed by Artjom Garejev) will premiere in the large hall, on February 15 Rita Kalnejais’s youth show “First Love is a Revolution” (directed by Margo Teder) and exactly one month later, on March 15, “Rough Sea” by August Gailit (director Elar Vahter). The 84th season will feature the premiere of Philip Osment’s drama “Leaving” on June 7 in the Loobu Manor stable, brought to the stage by the theater’s artistic director Peeter Raudsepp. Summer is also full of theater in Rakvere, because the international theater festival Baltoscandal will take place for the 18th time from 3 to 7 July. The Rakvere Theater will open its 85th season in the autumn with a jubilee atmosphere.
