The best Estonian crew is third after the opening day of the Aluksne rally

The season-opening test was won by Martynas Samsonas / Ervinas Snitkas driving the Hyundai i20 VRT racing car, whose victory over repeat test winner Emils Blūms / Didzis Eglītis (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) is 4.16 seconds ahead of Saturday’s race day. Second place is occupied by Patrick Enok / Silver Simm (Ford Fiesta Rally3) behind Blūms / Eglītis, who lead the Estonian championship record and leader of the EMV5 class. Like the best Estonians, Enok/Simmi, who hold third place overall in the Aluksne Rally and first place in the EMV3 class, are 9.86 seconds behind the overall leaders.

In the EMV2 class, Priit Koik / Kristo Tamm (Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo), who started first on Friday and led the way for the others, occupy first place. The best in the front-wheel drive EMV4 class were Jaspar Vaher / Rainis Raidma (Ford Fiesta Rally4) and Joosep Planken / Taavi Lassmann (Ford Fiesta Rally4) in the Estonian Junior Challenge.

The most intense racing on the opening day was in the EMV6 class, where the top two were separated by 0.4 seconds ahead of Saturday. Markus Tammoja / Henri Ääremaa (BMW M3 E36) ended Friday’s race day as the leader. Oskar Männamets / Holger Enok (Citroën C2 R2 Max) will compete as leader of the EMV7 class on Saturday. Karel Tölp / Karol Pert (Ford Fiesta R2) showed the best pace in the EMV8 class on Friday.

The opening rally will continue on Saturday with eight speed tests, during which 77.04 test kilometers will be covered. SS3 Mežusili 1 will start at 08:18.
