Alvar Johannes Alev finished 66th in qualifying the men’s freestyle sprint at the cross-country skiing World Cup stage in Goms, Switzerland, and was unable to continue.

Alev, the only Estonian at the start, completed the distance in 2.51.34, i.e. he lost more than 17 seconds compared to the best. There were 8.56 seconds left until 30th place, that is, the last one, which guaranteed advancement.

The Frenchman Lucas Chanavat (2.34.03) was the fastest in the men’s qualifications, ahead of the Norwegian Johannes Hosflöt Kläbo (+2.00) and the American Ben Ogden (+2.80).

In the women’s qualification, the Swedish sprinters set four fastest times: the first was Jonna Sundling (2.59.09), the second Linn Svahn (+0.24), the third Emma Ribom (+4.98) and the fourth Frida Karlsson ( + 5.23). .

At the beginning there was not a single Estonian woman.
