The festive program of ETV and ETV2 is full of joy and warmth

In the festive program of ETV and ETV2 you will find cordial meetings and greetings. Viewers will be greeted by beloved hosts with Christmas shows, and a cheerful program full of music and memorable meetings will appear on the screen.

ETV’s Christmas program “Jõulutunnel”, which has a long tradition, turns its attention to the little ones on the first day of Christmas. With the support of donations collected through the charity program, neonatal resuscitation tables and hoods are purchased for maternity wards in different parts of Estonia. “Jõulutunnel” starts on ETV on December 25 at 6.45pm and on ETV+ at 7.15pm. The live show with music and heart-to-heart meetings is hosted by Margus Saar and Margit Kilumets, on the ETV+ channel Margarita Tanajeva.

On Christmas Eve, Taavi Eilat and Juhan Kilumets welcome viewers with special meetings in the program “Christmas with ETV”. On December 24 at 7 pm, the heroes of our time and the great promoters of the world, musicians from Tartu, Tallinn and Võruma will visit their studio.

Shows in Christmas clothes and atmosphere

The holiday weekend will be inaugurated on Saturday 23 December at 10am by “Maahommik”, when the entire editorial family will gather around the common party table. On Christmas Eve, December 24, it will be opened at 9am by Reet Linna, who will head to Muhumaa to search for Christmas with “Glasses Box”. At 10 am the first Christmas party will be filled with warmth by “Hommik Anuga”.

“Luck 13” will be in front of viewers this holiday on Christmas Eve, that is, December 24 at 8:30 pm, if the calendar is Sunday. Allan, Mare, Laine, Alma, Jaanus, Jane, Peeter, Anu and little Johannes gather at the Petersons’ to eat roast pork. Even more special than usual will be “Ozone”, whose hosts Kristo Elias and Sander Loite will discuss timeless topics with Martin Herem and Tõnu Ènnepalu during the first Christmas break at 8.30 pm amidst the beautiful Estonian nature. On Monday at 9.45pm ETV2 viewers will be able to watch the special festive program “Plekktrumm”, where Sten Heinoja will be in the studio and playing some music amid Christmas thoughts.

Good acquaintances and new players

Tanel Tang, a chicken farmer from Saaremaa known to viewers, invites you to join him in the cafe on Christmas Eve at 5pm. In the holiday program “Tanel and the chickens”. Christmas in Sõrvemaa”, Tanel set himself the goal of finding traditional pastry recipes for his café in Sõrvemaa.

On December 24 at 6.30 pm viewers will see the touching family story “Double Joy”, in which Kaidor Kahar meets Kelli and Keit, who have been together since birth. They are identical twins who, as medical residents, help new citizens take their first breaths in the maternity ward of the University of Tartu clinic.

Music for all tastes

There is always room for musical experiences in the holiday schedule. Vaiko Eplik, Priit Voigemast, Liisi Koikson and the Vanalinna Hariduskoleegium string orchestra under the direction of Rasmus Puur will perform beautiful songs on ETV on December 24 at 5.30 pm. On December 23 at 9.25pm ​​Winnie the Pooh will present the Christmas program of ETV2, whose special Christmas tour “A Room Full of Fir Trees” combines the holidays only with their unique humor. On the evening of December 25, the Wolfredt group, which will play instrumental rock music, and the VHK String Orchestra under the direction of Rasmus Puur will join forces on ETV2.

As a gift ETV offers the hit musical “Ada. The Untold Story”. The essence of the legendary Ada Lundver and an era come to life in the interpretation of the best Estonian actors. The two-act story features pieces from the repertoire of the ensemble Laine, Heli Läätse, Heidi Tamme, Uno Loobi, Kalmer Tennosaare and many others. Ada Lundver is played by Saara Nüganen and Anne Reemann, in the other parts Sepo Seeman, Peeter Oja, Jan Uuspõld, Birgit Sarrap, Kalle Sepp, Priit Strandberg, Liina Tennosaar.

“Unique Vintage” will conclude the year with music-inspired meetings on Friday 22 December at 8pm. On Saturday, at the same time, Olav Ehala, Nele-Liis Vaiksoo, Anett Kulbin, Katrin Karisma, Hans Christian Aavik and Reigo Ahven will be the spectators to their favorite spots in Tallinn, which holds the title of UNESCO City of Music.

The special program ‘Aasthitt 30’ on December 26 will take an exciting tour through 30 years of music. This year Radio 2 chooses the hit of the year together with its listeners for the thirtieth time. While this year’s winner will be announced on the radio on December 28, ETV will present a cheerful retrospective on the long history of the music poll.

The five-part concert series “Five songs on Klassikararadio” will begin on ETV2 on December 26, where the music will be performed by Tõnis Mägi, Vaiko Eplik, Anett ja Fredi, Rahel Talts and Duo Mann and Juula. In addition to national music, ETV2 has put together a magnificent program with concerts by superstars. The experience will be brought to you by Sam Smith on December 22, Metallica on December 23, Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga on December 24, Pink on December 24, Tina Turner on December 25 and more.

A large selection of films and series

The holidays bring ETV viewers Christmas episodes of several hit series: the detective series “Vera” on December 22, the humorous detective series “The Mystery of Sister Bonifacio” on December 25, the dramatic and heartwarming series “Call the midwife!” December 26th.

During the holidays ETV offers a large selection of films and documentaries. This is how the Christmas atmosphere is conveyed in the film “Home for Christmas” on Saturday 23 December. On the first day of Christmas, however, viewers can expect a heartfelt interview with legendary actress Judi Dench.

ETV2 days offer the pleasure of discovery for the whole family. The film program includes, for example, Terry Pratchett’s Christmas story “Snow Maiden” on December 24, and on Christmas Eve the heartfelt “Oksa-onu” and “Teddy’s Christmas” will also be shown on the screen.

Thinking of the adult audience, ETV2 has developed a program of cult films, which will be launched on December 22 by “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. During the week the legendary films “King Kong” and “Emmanuelle” will be screened to the public.
