The first road accident with a Tesla Cybertruck: the front of the Corolla got muddy, the Cybertruck seems to have no problems

According to the Redwood City Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:04 pm on SR 35 (Skyline Boulevard) south of Page Mill Road. There were three people in the Tesla Cybertruck and it was hit by a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by a 17-year-old.

A Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on SR-35 at an unknown speed when the driver turned right for unknown reasons, struck an embankment on the right side of the car, returned to the roadway, crossed the double yellow line and collided with a northbound vehicle. Tesla Cybertruck.

The driver of the Tesla suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The Tesla Cybertruck was not driven in autonomous mode. The weather at the scene was cloudy and humid.

Images posted by a user on Reddit show significant damage to the front of the Corolla. The Cybertruck’s side airbags deployed and, at least on the driver’s side, the car does not appear to have any damage.

Here’s what the Corolla looked like after the accident:

Authorities were notified of the crash via an automated text message after the collision. Namely, Tesla has a feature that automatically alerts emergency services in the event of an accident that activates the airbags. The Cybertruck involved in the accident was likely Tesla’s company car, as it had a Texas license plate and Palo Alto registration.
