The “Five Songs” classical radio concert series offers listeners five musical encounters | Music

The classical radio concert series “Viis laulu” offers special experiences starting from December 11 at 2 pm for five consecutive weekdays: listeners are offered five musical encounters and five views of life.

As in many homes, there is also pre-holiday hustle and bustle at Klassikaradio. Every day in the programs and in the editorial staff there are heart-to-heart meetings, in honor of the year that is ending and in anticipation of the new one. On the eve of the anniversary of the broadcast, microphones and music come together in the piano room of Klassikararadio, when in five special concerts the musicians treat listeners to a pleasant hour with their creations and thoughts.

Monday 11 December. Duo Mann & Juula

Juuli Kõrre and Maria Mänd are violinists and childhood friends of Pärnu, who enjoy playing traditional music together, from Balkan tunes to Estonian polkas. Traditional music inspired them to create their own songs.

The sound director of the program is Ats Treimaa, the editor is Lisete Velt.

Tuesday 12 December, Tõnis Mägi

The beloved singer and composer Tõnis Mägi unites listeners from different generations: his music tells about life, love, oblivion and wonderful encounters. Tõnis Mägi, who recently celebrated his 75th birthday, performs his newest and oldest songs.

The sound director of the program is Teet Kehlmann, the editor is Marge-Ly Rookäär.

Wednesday 13 December, Anett and Fredi

Anett and Fredi are a musical team, bonded by great friendship and musical chemistry. The duo consists of singer and songwriter Anett Kulbin and acclaimed guitarist and producer Frederik Küüts. Anett and Fredi started working together in 2019, when the duo’s first song “Write About Me” was born.

This September Anett and Fredi released their first joint album “Read Between the Lines”, which, according to Anett, brings together the style, conversations, flashes of thought, experiences, daily life and dreams of the two musicians. Most of the duo’s songs talk about love and human relationships.

The sound director of the show is Siim Mäesalu, the editor is Johanna Mängel.

Thursday 14 December Vaiko Eplik

Vaiko Eplik, author of around two thousand songs, performs a selection of his vocal-instrumental music in the Klassikararadio piano room and sometimes plays the piano in addition to the guitar.

The sound director of the program is Rain Orgus, editor Lisete Velt.

Friday 15 December Rahel Talts

Rahel Talts is one of the most important pianists of the younger generation of jazz musicians. You are from Pärnu, graduated from the Georg Otsa music school and studied jazz piano in Denmark. He has several international ensembles under his belt.

Rahel comes from a family of musicians, her father is the guitarist Marek Talts and her grandfather is the legendary jazz musician Helmut Aniko. At the concert in the piano room he mainly plays his own songs, but perhaps also some jazz standards suitable for the Christmas period.

The sound director of the program is Ats Treimaa, the editor is Ivo Heinloo.

The concerts will be broadcast live on Klassikaradio from 11.00 to 15.00. on December 14th at 2pm, ETV2 broadcasts the recordings from December 26th at 9.50pm. The concerts can be listened to in the Estonian Radio app.
