The investigation into the ferry disaster in Estonia will receive additional funding of 1.2 million euros. Network Ship: “People want clarity”

At today’s session, the Government of the Republic decided to allocate 1.2 million euros from the government reserve to the Safety Investigation Center (OJK) for the continuation and completion of the project of preliminary assessment of the new circumstances of the ferry accident in Estonia . According to the OJK, the increase in the cost of the project is due to the increase in the volume of marine surveys and the increase in input prices.

After today’s government press conference, Finance Minister Mart Võrklaev said in Delf that the state reserve will be used for emergency expenses. “The disaster in Estonia is something that has left a strong impression on the Estonian people, people want clarity. This further investigation has been ongoing for some time.” The minister added that some time ago the government had an overview of what needs to be done to complete the investigation and draw conclusions, and additional funds were requested for this purpose.
