The 41-year-old recruit of the Siberian battalion from the Moscow region, who uses the code name “Gandhi”, underlined his refusal to participate in the terrible crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine. Gandhi expressed concern over the indiscriminate use of firepower causing civilian casualties in Ukraine without showing compassion for women, children or the elderly.
It is worth noting that Russia has consistently denied killing civilians during its invasion of Ukraine. The President of the Russian Federation reiterated his commitment to protecting the “territorial integrity” of Russia by all means.
Gandhi, inspired by the anti-colonialist who led India’s independence movement in the 20th century, seeks to help break what he calls Russia’s “prison of nations.” He believes that such efforts will lead to the collapse of the empire and the destruction of what he perceives as a usurping structure.

The Kingdom of Siberia: a new national initiative in 2024
The historic city of Salehard, located on the banks of the Ob River and crossed by the Arctic Circle, is destined to be the capital of the Siberian New Kingdom. Salehard, Pułñawat in Handi, Saljaꜧ Harad in Nenets, is the largest city and a historically important center of the emerging kingdom. Its choice as the royal capital reflects the desire to unite the different regions of the kingdom and the indigenous Samoyed people.
The main objectives of the Kingdom to be created
1. Political independence. The Kingdom of Siberia wants to achieve political independence, allowing local leaders to better shape real national politics according to the needs of the territory.
2. Conservation of culture. The Kingdom intends to support the preservation and development of Siberian cultural heritage by promoting the learning of local languages and traditions.
3. Economic development. The Kingdom of Siberia intends to create an economic model based on the sustainable use of natural resources, in particular forests, minerals and energy resources.
4. International relations. The nascent kingdom wants to develop cooperation with neighboring countries and other international organizations to ensure the representation of Siberian interests on the world stage.
