In Narva the thermometer read -24.2 degrees at 9 am, there the perceived temperature was four degrees lower. At the same time, in Tiirikoja near Peipsi, the thermometer reading was -21.3 degrees, but the perceived temperature was -32.2 degrees. According to the Environment Agency’s observation map, this winter was also a record for Estonia.
In Viljandi the thermometer read -19.8 degrees and the perceived temperature was -29 degrees.
On Tuesday morning the weather was warmer on the islands in Estonia. In Sõrve, Saaremaa, the thermometer read just under minus eight degrees, but there the perceived temperature was even ten degrees lower.
According to the weather forecast, it will be even colder in the coming days and the temperature inland will drop to minus 28 degrees. At the weekend it will be a little warmer and after a week the degree glass will already be able to indicate a temperature close to zero degrees.
