Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik scored a hat-trick in less than an hour, when he first scored a penalty earned by Fabio Miretti in the 11th minute and then got a white leg in the 38th and 48th minutes. Miliku also manages to be precise in the 57th minute, but this shot is not counted for offside. The final result was made official by Kenan Yildis in the 61st minute.
“I thank the boys who played a good match and entertained the crowd,” said Massimiliano Allegri, for whom Thursday’s match was his 400th match as Juventus coach. Only Giovanni Trapatton (596) and Marcello Lippi (405) have played more matches than him.
Juventus will meet Lazio in the semi-final, who beat city rivals Roma in the top eight 1-0. In the second pair, Atalanta and Fiorentina, last year’s finalists, will face each other. Atalanta beat Milan 2:1 in the quarter-finals and Fiorentina beat Bologna on penalties.
