The risk of skidding on secondary roads is high | Estonia

The Transport Authority warned on Monday that the risk of skidding on secondary roads was high and that it could be difficult to pass on secondary roads.

On Monday afternoon, the main Estonian roads in western Estonia are wet with salt, in other parts of Estonia there is a mix of snow between the lanes and road conditions are snowier.

Secondary roads present a high risk of skidding and other smaller roads can also be difficult to negotiate.

It continues to snow near the coast of Northern Estonia and the air temperature in Estonia is between -5 and -15 degrees.

The Environment Agency’s meteorological service predicts heavy rain in the evening and at night, but cold: the air temperature will sometimes drop to -23 degrees on the mainland and -15 degrees on the islands. There may be blizzards on the North Coast.

The Transport Authority expects road users to receive information on road conditions by calling 1247. You can view further information on road conditions and traffic restrictions
