The roads are very slippery! The Transport Authority has established a special maintenance regime in southern and eastern Estonia

The main national roads are snow-covered and sometimes icy. There are blizzards on many secondary roads, and the roads are difficult to pass. Visibility on roads may be limited at times due to wind and rain.

According to the Transport Authority, all available resources are used for road maintenance, but the required level of road condition is not yet guaranteed everywhere. In particular, secondary roads have become very difficult to navigate due to weather conditions.

According to the weather forecast, sleet and rain will fall in several places in the evening, it may also rain in places with freezing rain and snow in eastern Estonia. From the west around midnight the rain will ease. In many places there is ice and fog is forming. It blows on the northern coast, the wind blows up to 25 m/s.

The Transport Authority asks road users to pay particular attention in rainy areas, to avoid dangerous manoeuvres, to significantly reduce driving speed and to maintain a greater distance than usual. According to the Transport Authority, every road user must keep in mind that the maximum permitted speed is not mandatory and is not suitable for driving in windy, heavy snow and slippery conditions. When planning your trip, the Transport Authority asks you to allow extra time.

The Transport Agency expects information from road users about road conditions by calling 1247. Further information on road conditions and traffic restrictions can be found
