The super villain is building the best sports arena in the world. Which super buildings fall below this?

The Los Angeles Clippers’ Intuit Dome, set to be completed this fall, is more of a talking point than the team itself. The club’s owner, Steve Ballmer, failed to purchase NBA titles with the help of the luxury tax amounting to hundreds of millions of US dollars, but he definitely wants to grab the unofficial prize of the best sports arena in the universe.

Ballmer, who ranks sixth in the world’s criminal rankings, has no reason to skimp. The Intuit Dome will cost him more than $2 billion, close to the former Microsoft CEO’s $135 billion fortune.

With this money, Ballmer will install the largest and most legroom seats among NBA arenas for 18,000 spectators, a 4,100-square-foot 360-degree video board (five times larger than the NBA average), self-service buffets and sensors that will monitor fan activity. Anyone who claps, cheers or stands up enough for the Clippers receives a discount at nearby stores.

Ballmer emphasized that he is not building a hall for criminals, but for ordinary basketball fans. There are just 48 luxury NBA suites, and he initially refused to even put monitors in the suites. After all, people would be watching the game. Restaurants were also moved as far away from the square as possible.

“There are the Sunday fans, people who like to sit at the lobby bar and occasionally take a look at what’s going on in the game. We love them and it’s great that they’re going away, but we want to put the emphasis elsewhere. In our new arena, the most important thing is to stay in your seat and watch the team,” he told Sports Illustrated.

Ballmer, who calls the Intuit Dome a basketball palace, is passionate about bathrooms. Anyone who has ever attended a sporting event or concert has faced long lines. The Clippers asked researchers to calculate how many bathrooms would be needed to allow fans to relieve themselves during the NBA coaches’ mental break (usually two minutes and 30 seconds) without queuing and return to their seats on time. The result was an unprecedented number of 1,160 toilets and urinals.
