The theater company of the Vanemuine Theater distributed the prizes to their colleagues

The Vanemuine theater troupe gathered last Sunday for a lively meeting, during which the traditional peer-to-peer awards voting was also held to determine the best of the past year.

The dramatic actors chose as the best production of the year the play by the author Urmas Vadi “One Hundred Grams of Heaven”, inspired by the life and work of Artur Alliksaare. Veiko Porkanen, who plays the main role of the poet in the production, was awarded the title of best actor. Porkanen’s credits also include a role in the tragicomedy The Fourth Sister.

Colleagues recognized Maarja Johanna Mägi as the best actress for her roles in the productions “Fourth Sister” and “Pisuhänd 2”.

Ken Rüütl and his roles in the productions “The Cherry Orchard”, “Leopoldstadt” and “The Fourth Sister” were highlighted as a supporting actor. Furthermore, Ken Rüütel is the busiest actor of the Vanemuine theater company, taking the stage 112 times in the 154th season.

Piret Laurimaad received the award for best supporting actress for her roles in the productions “One Hundred Grams of Blue” and “Neljas öde”.

A special award was also given to recognize the best colleague. This title was awarded to the actor Karol Kuntsel.
