Road conditions across Estonia will be very difficult tonight and tomorrow. In case of rain and wind, the roads become very slippery and visibility is poor. Further snowfall of 5-10 cm is expected, with up to 15 cm in some places. Temperatures remain below freezing.
The Transport Authority is asking you to set aside much more time than usual for tomorrow’s morning and afternoon journeys. In rainy areas it is necessary to significantly reduce the permitted driving speed, maintain a longer distance than normal and significantly lengthen the braking distance.
Depending on difficult road conditions, severe traffic jams are also likely on the Tallinn Ring Road and Tallinn entrance roads during tomorrow’s morning rush hour. Tomorrow evening the rain will move eastward and road conditions will improve.
The agency also asks road users to take into account that the maximum permitted speed is neither mandatory nor suitable for driving in windy, heavy snow and slippery conditions.
