Trump leads strongly in Iowa, Haley’s support grows in New Hampshire | foreign country

Former US President Donald Trump continues to lead the polls in Iowa and New Hampshire just days before the start of the US Republican primaries. While Trump’s lead continues to be large in Iowa, support for former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is growing in New Hampshire.

According to a Morning Consult poll released Monday, 58% of Republican voters in Iowa support Donald Trump, while Haley’s support remains at 15%. In third place is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis with 14%.

Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy has the support of 10% of Iowa Republicans, while Trump critic Chris Christie’s support for former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is limited to 3%.

In November, 50% of Republicans in the state supported Trump, 18% of Republicans for DeSanti, 13% of Republicans for Ramaswamy and 11% for Haley.

Thus, over the past month and a half, Trump’s lead has strengthened and DeSantis’ support has declined. Florida’s governor bet bigger on Iowa.

Instead, Haley’s support increased in Iowa, but even more so in New Hampshire.

In a CNN poll released Tuesday, 39% of New Hampshire Republicans and independent voters planning to vote in the Republican primary support Trump. This is three percentage points less than in the November survey.

Nikki Haley’s approval rating in New Hampshire rose to 32%, up 12 percentage points from the previous CNN poll.

Christie’s support is at 12%, down two percentage points, while Ramaswamy’s support is unchanged at 8%.

DeSantis’ approval rating in a CNN poll was just 5%, down four percentage points from November.

Haley’s rise in New Hampshire has come at the expense of independent voters. While Trump’s lead over Haley among Republicans is 37 percentage points, Haley’s lead over Trump among independent voters is 26 percentage points.

While other polls show lower support for Haley, her support in the state has steadily increased in all polls, making Trump’s campaign a concern.

The Trump campaign has already ordered campaign ads in which the former South Carolina governor is accused of being financed by “Democrats, Wall Street and globalists”, writes the Financial Times. Wall Street is home to the New York Stock Exchange and numerous large banks and major financial institutions.

The Iowa primary is just five days away, January 15, and New Hampshire voters will vote on the presidential candidate on January 23.

The CNN election debate between Haley and DeSantis will also take place Wednesday night, though few predict the candidates will be able to change the minds of Trump supporters.
