US boxing ace granted Russian citizenship by Putin – beautiful Russian women are all I need!

The 44-year-old Johnson began obtaining citizenship last August, when he publicly announced that he wanted to continue boxing in Russia. Shortly before, he had taken Vladimirovich as his middle name in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Reuters reports.

“At this moment I am extremely happy and proud to share the same name with Vladimir Putin and my godfather. I said before that the Honorable Vladimir Putin adopted me and so I became Vladimirovich,” Johnson said at the time that in Russia everything it’s better, but especially women. “When I see beautiful white girls, I give up. We can talk endlessly about the advantages of Russia, but let me review these women. This is all I need!”

During his professional career, Johnson played in 60 games, winning 38 and losing 22. However, he has only two wins in his last 13 games. In 2009, Johnson faced Ukrainian Vitaly Klitschko in a WBC title match, but lost by unanimous decision.

On Tuesday, in addition to Johnson, Canadian hockey player Brendan Leipsic, a member of the St. Petersburg SKA, also obtained Russian citizenship.
