VIDEO ⟩ In Ida-Virumaa, the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Pagar during the War of Independence was commemorated with a reenactment

In a battle scene that lasted about a quarter of an hour, the Balti battalion, composed of members of the NGO Front Line, attacked the Pagar manor with heavy fire. A Bolshevik unit made up of members of the Narva Military History Club tried to repel the attack with machine gun fire, but they were surrounded and forced to surrender.

This was stated by Reimo Leol, group leader of the NGO Front Line. that 85% of the members of their unit are defense allies, defense forces, auxiliary police officers or young eagles and traveled to Ida-Virumaa from different corners of Estonia. “History is interesting to us, but military history is particularly interesting,” he said.

After the battle, wreaths were placed on the Pagar War of Independence column in the deployment in which the defense allies also participated.

The Battle of Pagari is one of the battles fought during the counterattack of Estonian troops from 7th to 19th January.

The first re-enactment of the Battle of Pagar took place in 2007.
