VIDEO | Aiming for the first Monte Carlo win of his career, Tänak tested the Hyundai in the Alps

The 2024 World Rally Championship season is no longer behind the mountains, as the Monte Carlo stage will begin as early as January 25th. Both the Hyundai and Toyota teams will test their bikes this week in the French Alps.

Ott Tänak also drove the Hyundai i20 Rally1 in 2022, but last year he drove an M-Sport-prepared Ford Puma in the World Series. However, the car wasn’t very fast or durable, somehow the Estonian squeezed the water out of the stone and took fourth place overall for the season.

This year Tänak returned to the Hyundai team and is aiming for his second World Cup title. Of course, the performance of one of the world’s fastest rally drivers also attracted fans, who captured 36-year-old Tänak’s examples of style on video.

In 2018, Ott Tänak took second place in Monte Carlo with the Toyota Yaris, but in recent seasons the stop there has not been a pleasure for the Estonian. From 2020 to 2022 Tänak retired, last year he was fifth.
