VIDEO INTERVIEW ⟩ «It’s an important thing that they contribute in this way.» The Elton John Foundation has started supporting the Estonian HIV network

The Estonian HIV Network, created 19 years ago, received a surprise birthday present. The sponsor became the AIDS Foundation of the world famous singer Elton John. Journalist Kadi Viljak, who today works in the ranks of the EHPV, talks about the whole process in more detail: “It’s actually a big problem that they contribute to Estonia like this.”

EHPV, i.e. the Estonian Network of HIV-positive people, which has been operating for 19 years, received a special gift: the AIDS Foundation of the world famous singer Elton John noticed Estonia. In the Estonian context this is a notable recognition and at the same time a useful support. Based on the support it is planned to establish a support network for HIV-positive people also in the city of Pärnu, where it currently does not exist.

Journalist Kadi Viljak and his specialist sociologist colleague Maksym Kasianczuk welcome us to the association’s premises. They want to talk about how the Elton John AIDS Fund came to the Estonian organization. It turns out that it all started with a chance meeting between the creator of the EHPV organization and the staff of the Elton John AIDS Foundation at a conference held abroad.
