The Wolverines maintained their 3-0 advantage until the sixth, when Sullivan got the Broncos on the board with a solo home run, his second of the season and the 30th of his Western Michigan career.

Connor Ostrander started the ninth inning with a pinch-hit walk, then moved to third on a Greg Budig double. Brendan Harrity brought Ostrander home to trim the margin to 6-2, but Michigan closed the door from there to ensure the weekend series split.
WMU put of a pair of runners on base in the eighth to bring the tying run to the plate, but was turned away. The Wolverines then added a pair of insurance runs in the last of the eighth to extend their lead to 6-1.
