World-famous star Chris Norman will present a new album and old hits in Estonia this summer

The pop-rock legend’s first concert will take place in Tallinn, at the Unibet Arena, on August 30, 2024, and the second concert at the Tartu Singing Stage on September 1, 2024.

Chris Norman needs no introduction to music fans everywhere. It was because of his special hoarse voice that the band “Kidness” was once renamed “Smokey”. According to band members, Chris’s “smoky” voice was associated with smoking (English Smoke-smoke), which is why the band was called “Smokei”.

Smokie’s focus began in 1978, when the album Montreaux was released and the critically acclaimed single “Mexican Girl” became a mega hit. Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro’s “Stumblin’in” reaches the Billboard top 10 in the US, followed by dazzling years of fame with concert tours across continents and packed stadiums.

All hits and new songs will be performed

The artist performs all over the world and surprises thousands of fans with his energy. “Humor and exercise help maintain energy. Even though I would really like to be lazy, I force myself to go to the gym and play sports,” smiles Chris, whose concert schedule is booked several years in advance .

“Living Next Door to Alice” will be played at Chris Norman’s concert in Tallinn and Tartu; “Midnight Lady”; “Pins and needles”; “Mexican Girl”; “Oh Carol”, “I’ll Meet You at Midnight”, “Don’t”, “Play Your Rock’n Roll to Me” and other world-famous songs by the artist.

The concerts in Estonia have a special meaning because the premiere will feature songs from the legend’s new album “Junction 55”, 12 of which were written by Chris himself or in collaboration with other musicians. Three songs were written with old friend and Smokie member Pete Spencer, two songs with his current band member Jeff Carline and one with Mike Chapman. These songs express the characteristics of a true singer-songwriter with timeless melodies and unforgettable harmonies.

“The title of the album reflects the fact that I’m in a new phase of my career and it’s been 55 years since I turned professional,” observes Chris Norman.

The name of the famous singer Chris Norman is not only associated with an “energetic hand”, but also with lyrical songs, so the concert promises to be both rock’nroll and lyrical.

A mind-boggling solo career

Although Chris Norman left Smokie in 1986 and began a solo career, his discography is truly impressive: more than 50 singles and more than 30 albums released (9 of them as part of Smokie and 25 during his solo career) . More than 30 million records have been sold worldwide and the artist still writes music and continues his concert activities.

Chris Norman (real name Christopher Ward Norman) was born into an artistic family in Yorkshire, UK. The boy’s father, whose musical taste was formed under the influence of Elvis Presley, Thea Beatles, Bob Dylan, Little Richards and The Rolling Stones, gave his son his first guitar when Chris was seven years old. In 1962, Chris Norman entered Bradford Posing School, where he met his Smokie bandmates Alan Silson and Terry Uttley.

For the past 23 years, the musician has lived on the Isle of Man, near the Irish Sea, with his wife Linda. Chris and Linda have five children.

Concert tickets are on sale in the ticket sales environment Piletitasku.ee.
