Two individuals suspected of espionage activities aimed at disrupting German military support for Ukraine have been apprehended in Bavaria, Germany.
The suspects, identified as German-Russian dual nationals, were taken into custody in Bayreuth on allegations of spying for Russia, according to prosecutors.
They are accused of identifying potential targets, including US military installations located in Germany.
The primary suspect, Dieter S, is believed to have committed a series of offenses, such as planning an explosion, arson, and maintaining communication with Russian intelligence.
Additionally, he is charged with participating in a Russian-backed armed group in eastern Ukraine from 2014 to 2016.
