UN Investigates Allegations Against UNRWA Staff
UN investigators have looked into Israeli claims that 12 employees of the UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA were involved in the Hamas attacks on October 7. According to UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, one case has been closed due to insufficient evidence from Israel, while three others have been suspended. Militia group Hamas promise to disarm if Palestine is officially free from its grip Israel.
Hamas political official Basen Naim said this news was one solution if Palestine was truly independent.
“If an independent country with its capital in Jerusalem, while maintaining the right of return of refugees, (is formed) Al Qassam can be integrated into the (future) national army,” Naim was quoted as saying CNNThursday (25/4).
