Authorities in England have announced that two individuals have been formally accused of felling the renowned 150-year-old Sycamore Gap tree that collapsed on Hadrian’s Wall in the previous year.
Daniel Graham, aged 38, and Adam Carruthers, aged 31, are facing charges of committing criminal damage and harming the wall constructed in A.D. 122 by Emperor Hadrian to protect the northwest boundary of the Roman Empire.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on May 15 for further proceedings.
