Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – One of Brown University’s major donors, billionaire Barry Sternlicht, criticized the campus’ agreement to hold a vote on divestment from Israeli interests.

The real estate mogul said that this made no sense. Sternlicht also said he had stopped donating to Brown University.

Brown University, one of the prestigious universities in the United States, was reportedly the first to reach an agreement with pro-Palestinian protesters.

The students said that companies doing business in Israel or with Israeli organizations were involved in the country’s attacks on Gaza.

Brown protesters are pursuing financial divestment from Israeli interests by selling shares in Israeli companies or severing financial ties.

Because of this, Sternlicht, in an emotional email to The New York Times, said the arrangement was simply sympathy for Hamas, which attacked Israel last October.

This depicts students protesting against Israel’s actions in Gaza as stupid. He immediately sent the email to Brown’s president, Christina H. Paxson

“There should be no voting when the public doesn’t know the facts. This isn’t education, it’s propagand

Hamas takes over the universities: the climate of hatred is growing from the former BR to the anarchists

Ban the Jewish State and interrupt relations of all kinds, from economic ones to research ones, typical activities of the Bds, Boycott-divestment-sanctions movement. Close relationships with Israeli companies at all levels. Erase Israel. In the pro-Palestine university protests, from Europe to the United States, the demands are the same and have been repeated for weeks. But not only. Even the methods of execution and implementation of student actions are similar. Sometimes a lot, maybe too much. And so the suspicion is that there is a hidden direction behind it, which in some way guides and accompanies the pro-Palestine demonstrations that have been taking place outside and inside the universities for months.

Intelligence analysts have been working for some time to follow the thread of a possible Hamas infiltration within the student networks. In Italy, the Hamas flag appeared in some street demonstrations. Like in the one in Milan last November where a sign appeared with the writing: «With Hamas, the Ezzedin al-Qassam brigades and the Palestinian people», signed «Italian Marxist-Leninist Party». And during the march someone even shouted: “Hamas is resistance, they are not terrorists.” And symbols of the terrorist group have also appeared in other contexts. And now that protests against Israel have flared up in American universities, yet another worrying signal regarding the possible infiltration of Hamas has arrived from Stanford. The university has in fact asked the FBI to investigate an individual photographed while wearing a bandana similar t

Previously, at a fundraiser held in Washington DC on the 1st local time, President Biden explained that the reason the US economy is growing is thanks to immigrants, and asked, “Why has China gotten so bad economically? Why is Japan having a hard time? What about Russia? What about India? “Because they are xenophobic, they don’t want immigrants,” he said.

In Japan, many rebuttal comments were posted on articles covering this comment, and the US media also pointed out that President Biden had made a slip of the tongue that amounted to a diplomatic insult less than a month on after inviting the Prime Minist

In India, cinema is also campaigning for Narendra Modi’s BJP

For about five years now, however, Muslims have been systematically depicted as terrorists, supporters of Pakistan or practitioners of “love jihad”, a conspiracy theory according to which they would use the weapon of seduction to convert Hindus to Islam (The Kerala Story, 2023). Material apparently more suitable for the psychoanalyst’s couch than for films and rallies, but the political climate is what it is.
