“You’re a beggar who’s about to graduate anyway.” Adidas’ official Twitter account criticized Durant

Adidas recently released the A1 basketball shoes of the NBA’s new knee star, Anthony Edwards. The 22-year-old basketball player was asked who could wear his shin guard. According to Edwards, for one of the best scorers of all time, Kevin Durant, it would be his dream to wear them even in just one game.

Nike Durant customer responded he strongly opposed this request on social media. “You will NEVER see me stick my toe in this (expletive),” the 35-year-old basketball player wrote.

Unexpectedly, Adidas came to Edwards’ defense via its official social media account. “You’re a scumbag who’s going to graduate soon anyway,” Adidas replied to Durant. Or more precisely, the person who manages your account.

As this caused further problems, the shoe brand quickly removed the post, but the little online battle continued. “It would have made more sense to publish it from your shadow account,” Adidas pointed out. By this they were alluding to the trouble of a couple of years ago, when Durant was discovered to have insulted his critics by various shadow reports.

It is currently unknown if, who and why he spoke so clearly on behalf of Adidas. But it’s also clear that Durant will never wear their sneakers: the legendary NBA star has a lifetime contract with Nike.
