A Brazilian content creator has died at just 19 years old

Maria Sofia Valimi, the 19-year-old daughter of Brazilian county mayor Viktor Valimi, died last week just days after a liver transplant, People reports.

“It is with great sadness and pain that we announce that our lovely daughter Sofia has passed away,” Maria Sofia’s father said on social media, “unfortunately her body could not resist.”

Only a few days earlier Maria Sofia’s father had revealed that a suitable donor had been found for his daughter, who was on the waiting list for a new liver. “This morning a compatible donor was found and the operation was performed. The next 48 hours will be used to see if Sofia’s body will accept the new organ.”

The hope that the young woman would survive after the operation was dashed a few days later.

Based on what was published in the public media, it appears that the young woman’s health deteriorated rapidly and unexpectedly. Just a few weeks before her death, Maria Sofia attended Taylor Swift’s concert, which she also posted on her Instagram account.
