Europe and the United States

The main European stock markets took no clear direction on Wednesday. The Euro Stoxx 50 is just in the red and the German DAX is also hovering near zero. The OMX Nordic 40, which aggregates the shares of the Scandinavian stock exchanges, advanced by 0.55%.

In the US stock markets the main indices move in different directions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down nearly 0.10%, the S&P 500 is just above zero and the Nasdaq Composite Index is up 0.30%. The market was disappointed by the news from the FedEx courier, considered a directional indicator of the US economy, as the company tends to show the strength or weakness of consumers.

The company’s shares fell 11% after it cut its full-year revenue forecast and reported weaker-than-expected quarterly earnings.
