A large amount of the oligarch’s property is waiting to reach Ukraine. The feared obstacle has emerged

At the time Abramovich made the decision to sell because he was threatened with sanctions, which would also have affected the club. Today there is discussion about where exactly the offender can still donate this money.

The most precise content of the dispute is that Abramovich no longer wants to support only the victims of the war in Ukraine, but “good initiatives throughout the world, including in Africa.” This is confirmed by both British officials and people close to Abramovich. However, British officials want all the money to go to Ukraine, and they are the ones who can give the green light to move the money.

According to sanctions experts, there is a risk that the donations end up in the hands of the Kremlin or its allies as they move “around the world”. At the same time, there is a sense that simply by moving money to Ukraine, relations between Abramovich and Russian decision-makers would become strained. The oligarch has so far tried to act as a mediator between Russia and the West.

In Ukraine, several organizations are waiting for the release of funds, the sum of which will be almost six times higher than what the British government has so far allocated to Ukraine.

But the Portuguese government is also involved, because Abramovich is also their citizen. Portugal had to approve the sale of Chelsea, and did so only on the condition that the money went exclusively to Ukraine. To resolve the impasse, a non-profit organization was created, and the leader is sure that it will be possible to get out of a stupid situation.

What amount are we talking about? 2.34 billion pounds, or almost 2.69 billion euros.
