A POSTMAN IN STRASBOURG ⟩ The Spanish Prime Minister received a severe headache from the European Parliament

“During the presidency the EU has made many steps forward, it has also been discussed here. We have had various legislative initiatives regarding critical raw materials, green and digital technology, legislation on artificial intelligence: we must protect our citizens and also protect the modernization of agriculture,” said Sánchez, appearing before parliament, referring to the six-month results. “Here we can congratulate the European Parliament on the agreements we have reached.”

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola expressed hope that the remaining burning issues related to immigration will be resolved during the remaining term of the presidency, as she said results are expected from them. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen also underlined the importance of the migration issue. “Over the last six months the pressure on our external borders has increased: not only in the Mediterranean, but also along the Atlantic Ocean and recently also on the eastern border of Finland. This is a brutal hybrid attack, the one that Russia is behind. This is proof once again that this is a pan-European problem that needs a pan-European solution,” Leyen said. “We deal with organized crime on an international level.”
